Sell-Out Tour and Album Return

Inspirational Music Icon, Kenneth Cope, Releases Enhanced Edition of My Servant Joseph

Thousands were turned away when Kenneth Cope took his album My Servant Joseph on tour in 1994. It was the first event of its kind and popularity was immediate. In honor of the 200th anniversary of the birth of Joseph Smith, Cope has released an enhanced, digitally re-mastered edition of this best-selling album.

My Servant Joseph, the 200th Anniversary Edition, in stores now, includes six new songs demonstrating Cope’s songwriting prowess and contemplative nature as he reflects on the life of Joseph Smith Jr.

Few musicians have impacted a culture or genre as acutely and intensely as has this composer, producer, performer, songwriter, and singer. Cope consistently sets the standard for excellence in inspirational LDS music.

In addition to his seven albums, Cope ventured into the world of film scoring, by writing and producing an original score for Joseph Smith, the Seer, an interactive CD-ROM that explores and examines the life of the prophet. Currently, Cope is collaborating with author Susan Easton Black and artist Liz Lemon Swindle on a multimedia presentation to chronicle the life of Christ, titled Son of Man.

Recognizing Cope’s achievements, the Faith Centered Music Association (FCMA) has awarded him numerous PEARL Awards over the years including Male Vocalist of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, and Album of the Year. Stories from Eden’s Garden garnered Cope an Indie nomination for Contemporary Christian Album of the Year from the Association for Independent Music and in 2003, Cope received the Best of State Award for Male Vocalist of the Year.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is celebrating the 200th anniversary of Joseph Smith’s birth throughout 2005 with a combination of performances, media presentations, documentaries, and a new film exploring the process through which Joseph was prepared, tutored, and refined to fulfill his prophetic calling.
