I’m Pleased To Present Caydence Marie Hesch

Caydence Marie HeschCaydence Marie Hesch was born at about 3:30 PM MST and is 7 lbs., 9 oz., and 20 inches long. And has the most beautiful black hair you have ever seen. The delivery was a little shaky at first because it looked like Nancy was going to have to have a C Section. But with lots of prayers and on-the-ball medical staff Caydence was born vaginally and without a hitch. Mom and baby are doing well. Nana and Papa are also doing well. ;) Caydence is my third grandchild. I’ve watched 5 children and 3 grandchildren deliver and I never fail to be amazed at the beauty of new life. What a miracle.

Quick Update

The final diagnosis on my son is Migraines. We saw the Neurologist yesterday and all of the tests have come back normal. The really frustrating part of the whole thing is there is no immediate relief. He was given some migraine medication but the doctor said it could take 30-60 days before he sees any relief. She also told him to get off caffeine and to take magnesium. We’re thankful there is nothing major is wrong with him but I feel bad he is going to have to live with this headache for awhile longer.

My son, daughter-in-law, and wife just left for the hospital. My daughter-in-law is being induced this morning since the baby has decided she doesn’t want to come on her own. I’ll head over to the hospital a little later. And of course have pictures uploaded to the KZION photoalbum after she’s born. :)

Still No Change With James

We take James back to the neurologist tomorrow. I’m really anxious to hear what she has to say. With all the tests coming back normal I suppose it’s time to start treating the headaches as migraines and working on a solution to help him get some relief. He has had the same headache for almost a month now with no relief. He was going to run track this year but can’t run with the headache. He’s missed so much school that he’s scrambling to catch up.

I’d like to thank everyone who has been including our family in their prayers. I’ve received a ton of emails from kind people who are keeping us in their prayers. I know there will be a resolution somewhere down the road.

My other son and his wife still has not had the baby. She is now 3 days overdue and will be induced Friday morning if she doesn’t deliver before then.

KZION seems to be back to normal. The new server is working perfect. The new stream provider seems to be pretty stable so far. No complaints from anyone yet.

I Never Said It Was Going To Be Easy

We took my son into see the neurologist on Wednesday morning. She was pretty thorough and sent us immediately to the hospital to get an MRI and some additional lab work. The MRI and lab work all came back negative. The doctor then scheduled a Spinal Tap because of the stiffness in the neck. We were a little hesitant about having the procedure done but couldn’t take the chance that he may have meningitis.

Wednesday evening we took him in to the anesthesiologist to have the Lumbar Puncture (aka: Spinal Tap). The procedure went well but immediately after, his headache went through the roof. He was sobbing all the way home and I could tell he was in serious pain. This is my 15 year old football player son who is a tough kid. We gave him some pain medication but it didn’t help. Finally by early morning he fell asleep and I can seriously say that was one of the worst nights of my life. It is so hard to watch your child suffer. I had just a glimpse of what our Heavenly Father went through watching the Savior in Gethsemane and Calvary.

In three weeks we have racked up $4000 in medical bills, spent countless hours at the doctors office and hospital, my son has been poked 5 or 6 times, had a CT scan, an MRI, X-rays, a spinal tap, and still no diagnosis. This is not working out well. We were almost wishing he had viral meningitis so at least we would have a diagnosis and it’s curable with antibiotics.

When the headaches first started I gave him a blessing. After the blessing my wife and I both felt that ultimately he was going to be fine but it wasn’t going to be easy.

Thursday night my other sons wife started having contractions about 5-6 minutes apart so we took her in to the hospital to be checked. The baby wasn’t quite ready and so they sent us home. Here it is Sunday and still no baby. She is due Tuesday so it could be anytime.

I’m tired…
