I wasn’t really sure how I felt about Terri Schiavo, the severely brain-damaged St. Petersburg woman who has lived for the last 13 years with the help of a gastric feeding tube.
Her husband wants the feeding tube removed. He says that his wife did not want to live like this. Her parents say no. She deserves to live until she passes away on her own.
I have told my wife many times that I do not want to be kept alive by machines if doctors are sure that my brain is dead. And she feels the same. So initially I was for the husbands decision to end Terri’s life. But after reading Bob’s column I don’t know anymore.
